About Us

Established in 2000 by Rt. Rev Dr. Emmanuel Chemengich and Dorcas Chemengich and their friends in various countries, Mwamba Foundation was recognized as a 501(c)(3) non profit in 2003.

Mwamba Foundation is governed by two boards - One in Kenya and One in the USA. The USA Board raises resources and the Kenyan Board identifies the beneficiaries and submits reports on the impact of the projects.

Mwamba Foundation works towards Transforming lives in kitale kenya by building mutual partnerships That enhance human capacity through education shared resources, and cultural exchanges with partner countries. Mwamba is a swahili word for “rock”, expresses the stability Mwamba foundation seeks to establish in the Kenyan people. Mwamba works through communities and churches to transform the lives of the Kenyan people by:

Funding scholarships and donating school supplies to ensure that poor children have access to educational opportunities; Financing Seminary scholarships and workshops, and equipping the Church Resource Center to develop and enhance church leaders; Promoting women’s development through entrepreneurial education.
